Today the entire world is celebrating the Theater Day. It was initiated in 1961 by the International Theatre Institute and it’s the perfect excuse to enjoy a play in one of this unique Spanish theatres.

In 2014 will take place the commemoration of the 4th centenary of the death of El Greco, one of the greatest artists of all time. There are three great exhibitions programmed for the year and the largest will gather over a 100 works of El Greco in Toledo. This will be the largest exhibition of the artist ever held in history. Many of the works, which will come from museums all over the world, are exhibit together for the first time. Here are five tips to know a little bit more about El Greco, the man and the artist.

Every 23th of April takes place the World Book Day in many countries. Promoted by the UNESCO this is a day to encourage reading and defend the authors’ rights. The date has not been chosen by chance. In April 23th 1616 two geniuses died: William Shakespeare and Miguel de Cervantes.

All through 2015, we have been celebrating the V centenary of the birth of St Teresa. The celebrations will culminate this month with the festivities of Santa Teresa in Avila. This annual festival honors the city’s patron saint with processions, concerts and fireworks. In October it is mandatory to visit the walled city of Avila!
