Embark on a private walking tour through the landscapes of the Douro Valley!
Our expert guide will lead you on a journey from the charming village of Casal de Loivos, meandering through picturesque vineyards, until you reach the magnificent Douro River.
Along the way, indulge in the flavors of the region as you visit an olive oil museum, savoring locally produced olive oil and honey.
Then, a picnic lunch awaits at a wine estate, followed by a winery tour and a port tasting.
You will enjoy an unforgettable day soaking in the serenity of the Douro River!

Today you will also join a Rabelo Boat tour on an unspoiled stretch of the Douro River.
You will observe the terraced vineyards and the century-old buildings of the famous wineries in this unique landscape included in the World Heritage List by UNESCO.
Portuguese Camino de Santiago from Tui to O Porriño

Begin your walk at the Cathedral of Tui, soon exiting the historic streets of the town.
You’ll pass the Romanesque church of San Bartolomeu de Reboránds, which features a beautiful Cruceiro.
Next, you’ll cross the Louro River and pass the Virxe do Camiño, where the San Telmo cross is located. From there, you will continue through the village of Ribadelouro and on to Orbenlle.
Finally, the route will lead you to the village of O Porriño, where this stage concludes.

Portuguese Camino de Santiago from O Porriño to Arcade

After leaving O Porriño, your first landmark will be Carracido, as you head towards the Eremita de Santa Marta.
From the Church of Santa Olaia, you’ll begin an uphill walk towards Cabaleiros de Mos, passing the church of Santiaguiño in Guizán along the way.
Next, you’ll reach Vilar de Enfesta, which leads you to Redondela, where the Convent of Vilavella will come into view. Continuing on, you’ll arrive at the nearby town of Cesantes-San Pedro, and from there, climb up the Viso. This is a good spot to rest at the Parque do Loureiro.
Throughout this stretch, you’ll enjoy stunning views of the Vigo estuary, including the iconic Rande Bridge and San Simón Island. The descent through Setefontes will bring you to Arcade, a town renowned for its beaches.

Portuguese Camino de Santiago from Arcade to Pontevedra

You will leave Arcade by crossing the picturesque Ponte Sampaio over the Verdugo River.
From there, you will head towards O Monte do Castro and A Pontenova, ascending to Monte de A Canicouva.
As you begin your descent, you’ll pass through the houses of Figueirido.
Continuing on, you’ll reach Vilaboa and O Marco, before finally entering Pontevedra via Virxe do Camiño (Virgin of the Way) street.

Portuguese Camino de Santiago from Pontevedra to Caldas de Reis

From Praza da Ferrería, head down to the Lérez River and cross the Burgo Bridge.
Following Rúa da Santiña, you’ll arrive in Alba, with San Amaro in the municipality of Barro as your next stop. Along this route, consider taking a detour to the Rio Barosa Natural Park, a perfect spot for a break and highly recommended for a visit.
You’ll then pass through Briallos, and just before reaching Caldas, you’ll encounter the Church of Santa Marta.
Caldas de Reis, a thermal village along the Umia River, is an ideal place to enjoy a relaxing spa session during your Camino.

Portuguese Camino de Santiago from Caldas de Reis to Padrón

You will leave Caldas behind by the Rúa Real and the Travesía de San Pedro, and soon you will reach the village of Carracedo.
After walking through forests on this stretch you reach Casalderrique, and then you will come across the church of San Miguel in Valga.
From here you soon reach Infesta and Pontecesures, next to the river Ulla. Just on the other side is Padrón (this river forms the Arousa estuary).
You cross the river Sar and finally enter the village of Padrón.

Portuguese Camino de Santiago from Padrón to Santiago de Compostela

Leaving Padrón, you soon reach the Collegiate Church of Santa María de Iria.
The route continues flat through the village of Pazos, passing fields as you make your way to Tarrío and Vilar. A notable stop is A Escravitude, with its impressive church.
You then arrive at the Church of Angueira de Suso and Areal, passing by the Pazo de Faramello, a recommended visit. After traveling through Francos and Osebe, you’ll gradually approach Milladoiro and the Choupana neighborhood.
From there, a final ascent brings you into the streets of Santiago, culminating at the iconic Praza do Obradoiro.

Today, in your free time, we suggest you visit the magical city of Santiago de Compostela on your own!
Feel the spirit of the pilgrims as you explore its old town, filled with historic treasures like the Cathedral in Obradoiro Square, the Abastos market, and the Santa Clara Convent.
Indulge in the delights of Galician gastronomy, from the pulpo a feira (octopus with paprika), to the comforting lacón con grelos (boiled ham with turnip tops).
