I just returned from a 2 week vacation in Spain planned by Carameltrail. The team did an excellent job selecting tours based on our preferences. The tours were private with charismatic, friendly, and knowledgeable tour guides that really enriched the experience. The travel between cities was effortless. The hotels all had all the expected amenities, were beautifully appointed, and centrally located. 100% Confidence in Angela and Paloma. They created and executed an amazing 9 day trip for my family of 9 to travel from Barcelona, to Seville, to Cordoba, to Malaga, and then Granada. Angela was so patient in the planning process. Listened to our objectives, created a plan, and then updated it many times until we thought it was perfect. And, it ended up being more than perfect. Once we arrived in Barcelona, Paloma took the lead and was available 24/7..immediately responding on WhatsApp. At every turn, transportation was top notch. Great drivers and great vehicles. Hotel at Malaga was 5star...exactly what we needed...a warm, cozy LHW oasis after a long week situated perfectly in a dynamic walkable city. All the activities they arranged were either super fun, super delicious, or super cool. Site seeing, food tours, bike tours...the guides were also so easy going, relatable, and accommodating. Samuel, Paloma and their team at Caramel Trail were the perfect coordinators for our trip to southern Spain and Morocco. No detail was left untouched and they made it all a seamless and stress-free adventure. We had a few situations that came up on our end including a flight delay and they were able to help us coordinate logistics to work out the timing. They are on call to help at anytime, confirmed meeting times with us and provided us the most wonderful drivers and tour guides that were so knowledgeable about the area. We had such a wonderful time on our trip with CaramelTrail.  We had wanted to walk/hike throughout Northern Spain, studying the culture, visiting wineries, tasting pintxos and tapas along the way.  Samuel and Paloma were able to provide all of these opportunities.  Both drivers and guides were so helpful, knowledgeable and fun to be with. Caramel Trail (Angela and Samuel) did an amazing job of planning our recent trip to Spain.  Not only did they plan a detailed itinerary, they coordinated seamless pickups from the airport, incredible english speaking tour guides and helped us to know what to expect.  They provided helpful information on history, culture and advice on customary tipping, restaurant recommendations and so much more.  Another aspect that I really appreciated was that I had a phone number that I could text if I needed anything and they responded right away.  They periodically texted us to make sure everything was going well.  When traveling abroad this gave me such peace of mind.  I'm so glad I found Caramel Trail.  They make it easy! Angela helped my husband and me plan our trip to Bilbao, San Sebastian and Barcelona. Her suggestions and communication from the start were exceptional. Booking our trip with Carameltrail was a no-brainer after our first trip to Spain. It was an incredible trip. This time we traveled to beautiful Portugal. They created a custom itinerary that perfectly balanced sightseeing, culture, and relaxation. Everything was so well organized—transfers, tours and accommodations all went smoothly.

We loved how they included authentic experiences, like a guided food tour in Porto, a day trip through the Douro Valley wine region, a stop in a small historic village and time to relax along the Algarve coast before heading to Lisbon where we enjoyed a city tour that was custom to what we wanted to see. We ended our trip with an amazing day trip to Sintra and Cascais with a sailboat trip back to Lisbon-definitely a highlight and a perfect way to end our trip. Each recommendation felt thoughtful and tailored to what we wanted out of the trip.

What impressed us most was their attention to detail—they provided tips on local restaurants, hidden gems, and even other sights we might want to see if we had extra time. We never once felt stressed; we could just enjoy Portugal’s beauty and culture.

Our experience with Carameltrail was positive and professional from start to finish. Initially, our plans were arranged pre-pandemic with scheduled dates in the middle of the pandemic.  Carameltrail allowed postponement to a post pandemic schedule without extra cost or difficulty. The itinerary was tailored to all our personal requests, and often exceeded expectations. Hotel selections were well suited to our preferences, transportation was well managed and timely, the tours ran smoothly, and the guides were both knowledgeable and engaging. My friends and I recently had the pleasure of booking our trip with Carmeltrail in Madrid, and the experience exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we arrived at the airport to the last day of our trip, all of our travel needs were met.

The itinerary crafted by Samuel (the Owner) was nothing short of exceptional, we worked together and he understood right away what we wanted to do, he gave us great ideas of places to visit incluiding Cuenca, Avila and Segovia, We also went to the beautiful Toledo. Every detail was meticulously planned, offering a perfect balance of must-see attractions and hidden gems. Their local knowledge of the guides  (all of them!!!!!!!!)made my journey in Madrid and around Madrid truly memorable.

What impressed me the most was the personalized attention I received by Samuel and his wife Paloma, when we were in our trip they replied to our texts within the minute, any queries or concerns were promptly addressed, they also helped us make reservations to restaurants when we ran out of ideas and we couldn't find a place to eat.. The recommendations for restaurants ,were the Best!
Pancho our driver was the best, he was very kind, and kept up with our group of 4 girls that wanted pictures everywhere, He always had a smile even though sometimes we were not on time in the morning or were late when we had to come back, (sorry Pancho)
In summary, my friends and I had a blast, we would hire Caramel trail again and again. I was happy when Samuel told us he can also arrange trips to Morocco and Portugal!!!!
We are coming back!!!

Caramel Trail is amazing!  We've taken two trips that the Caramel Trail team organized and they've both been perfect.  The first trip in 2017 was six weeks in Spain and the second trip in 2022 was six weeks in Morocco, Portugal, and Spain.  Both trips were excellent.  Samuel and Paloma know how to take care of every detail to ensure a great experience is had by everyone.  They really work hard to ensure an amazing trip and it shows. This was our second trip to Europe using CaramelTrail and working with Samuel Rojo.
We wanted to visit Portugal, spend some time by the sea in Spain and have a short visit to Morocco while in Spain. Sam took time to talk with us a couple of times, gave us great advice on creating a manageable itinerary and planned a number of activities/adventures for the kids.
CaramelTrail personnel was great (checking on us every day to make sure we are all set for the next day), everything worked perfectly, everyone was on schedule: drivers, tour guides, etc.

Angela set up a wonderful trip to Spain for us in September 2022.  The planning of the trip was painless and Angela listened to our requests and incorporated them into our itinerary.  We were all over Spain, and the local guides that Caramel Trail uses were wonderful- both very knowledgeable and accommodating as well as good-humored.  Nearly all our transfers  went smoothly. The vehicles were very comfortable and the drivers professional.  On our last pick-up for our flight home, the driver was not there at the planned time.  A text to Angela got a response within  a minute or two and the problem (driver had the wrong time) was immediately rectified. The smaller boutique hotels were all in exceptional locations for visiting the areas and for dining.
Both Angela and Paloma were always available to us by phone or text and their responsiveness was amazing.  We would highly recommend their services for anyone considering a trip to Spain.

We just finished a tour of Portugal. Angela and Paloma took care of all the details of the trip to include airport transfers, hotels, gastronomy and tour guides. We basically flew into the country and they took care of the land portion of the trip. They remained in constant communication during the trip and answered all questions in less than 5 minutes. All of their guides and car/van drivers were professional and were able to communicate in English (and in Spanish also). Several experiences were tailored made for our trip, such as hiking through a vineyard in the Duoro region, a gastronomic tour of Porto, and a nice Sunday drive through the beaches of Algarve, among others. Our group of 6 experienced a most fabulous trip in
Seville, Madrid, Lisbon and Madeira thanks to the expertise of Angela and Paloma from Carameltrail.  We have worked with different travel agents over the years, but have never experienced the attention to detail, thoughtful planning, and wonderful execution as we did for this recent month-long trip.  Angela listened carefully to our thoughts about the trip and scheduled experiences for us that were varied, authentic, and interesting.  The guides that were secured for us were absolutely top-notch!  We liked the fact that we had several guides for multiple days.  All drivers were excellent and on time for each excursion.  Throughout the trip, Angela and Paloma checked in with us each day to make sure we enjoyed our activities and constantly asked if they could do anything else for us.  When we asked about hearing Fado music, they secured tickets for us at no extra charge.  We have never had such personalized service.  We would  certainly use Carmeltrail again when traveling to that part of Europe.  We wholeheartedly recommend them- you will not be disappointed. Carameltrail did an amazing job. We have booked several other high-end luxury tours thorough other sources and found Carameltrail's the most well planned and managed. I cannot speak highly enough about our experience with Angela and Paloma  with Carameltrail.  We traveled to Spain for our anniversary.  Angela created a dream itinerary.  It was very clear that she listened to our goals for the trip and gave us a superb experience. My very favorite part was that once in Spain, we didn't have to really think about anything. She handled every detail and both Angela and Paloma were available and extremely responsive via a WhatsApp chat set up for the trip when we had questions. I tell everyone who will listen that if they are ever traveling to an area where Carameltrail can handle the plans that they should reach out. We had the best trip to Spain, including Madrid, Toledo, Granada and Seville. Angela and Paloma did an outstanding job of planning a perfect 9 days for us - from start to finish we thoroughly enjoyed our accommodations, our drivers, guides, tours and experiences. My only regret is not having more time - it definitely left us wanting a bit more time to explore each area.
They also went above and beyond to help when my niece was ill for a couple days on our trip. We so appreciated the assistance they offered and last minute changes to our itinerary.

What a fun way to travel!  Samuel and his staff planned our visit to Spain and it was perfect down to the last detail!  Our transfers were worry free, with drivers picking us up at every location and taking us back and forth to the wonderful activities they had planned for us.  We really got to know each city through bike and segway tours, food and walking tours,  cooking classes and a flamenco show.  Everyone was kind and friendly, accommodating minor changes with grace and answering all our questions.  We’re so looking forward to traveling with you again, it was such a pleasure!
