This was the best trip I have taken and I have travelled quite a bit. First of all, working with Samuel takes out all of the hassle of planning a trip to another country. We told him what we liked to do and he came up with an itinerary that he felt we may like. He was very responsive and answered all of my questions. He was happy to discuss back and forth and change things if we wanted. We reached out to him pretty close to our trip but he was able to get everything booked for us. This I must say is one of the best parts! No need to do research or read reviews or figure out train schedules and timing–Samuel does it all! And the private tours were amazing!
All of our guides were so nice and knowledgable. It was great being able to hang out with someone who is from and lives in the country you are visiting. It really changes your experience and gives a look beyond what you would see as just a tourist.
The private tours in Spain allowed us to learn more about the art and architecture than I would have otherwise. My favorite part of European trips is usually the history, art and architecture and this time I got to experience all of this at a completely different level.
Also the hotels he picks are so central! We went to Barcelona and Madrid and were able to walk all over both cities from where we were staying. Samuel recommended taking a day trip to Toledo and I absolutely loved it and don’t think I would have ever known to go there if I had done this on my own.
I cannot go back to traveling any other way! I plan to go back to Portugal but this time with Carameltrail so I can experience it the right way!
