Seville, Madrid, Lisbon and Madeira thanks to the expertise of Angela and Paloma from Carameltrail.  We have worked with different travel agents over the years, but have never experienced the attention to detail, thoughtful planning, and wonderful execution as we did for this recent month-long trip.  Angela listened carefully to our thoughts about the trip and scheduled experiences for us that were varied, authentic, and interesting.  The guides that were secured for us were absolutely top-notch!  We liked the fact that we had several guides for multiple days.  All drivers were excellent and on time for each excursion.  Throughout the trip, Angela and Paloma checked in with us each day to make sure we enjoyed our activities and constantly asked if they could do anything else for us.  When we asked about hearing Fado music, they secured tickets for us at no extra charge.  We have never had such personalized service.  We would  certainly use Carmeltrail again when traveling to that part of Europe.  We wholeheartedly recommend them- you will not be disappointed. You planned to the minutest of details, an elaborate trip that took us from Madrid, to Morocco, where we visited Casablanca, Volubilis, Meknas, Fez, and Marrakesh; it was a beautiful cultural experience. We then returned to Madrid, where we explored this magical city with its wonderful museums. From there, you planned for us thoughtful visits to Laredo, Córdoba, Sevilla, Ronda, Grazalema, Jerez, the beautiful Costa de la Luz, Málaga, Granada and the amazing Alhambra, and finally the Axarquía area and the beautiful Spanish Mediterranean coast.
You made yourselves available to us for any need that might arise, at any time. You were attentive to details, and you obviously are experienced in planning elaborate, special, and personal trips.
The guides you assigned for us were knowledgeable and experienced.
You selected special, and often historic hotels for us to rest after long days of touring, enjoying culture and food. We were made to feel at home. And we are convinced that we would not have found these hotels on our own, but more importantly, we would not have been able to plan such a beautiful trip on our own, no matter the research.

The planning of the trip was painless and Angela listened to our requests and incorporated them into our itinerary.  We were all over Spain, and the local guides that Caramel Trail uses were wonderful- both very knowledgeable and accommodating as well as good-humored.  Nearly all our transfers  went smoothly. The vehicles were very comfortable and the drivers professional.  On our last pick-up for our flight home, the driver was not there at the planned time.  A text to Angela got a response within  a minute or two and the problem (driver had the wrong time) was immediately rectified. The smaller boutique hotels were all in exceptional locations for visiting the areas and for dining.
Both Angela and Paloma were always available to us by phone or text and their responsiveness was amazing.  We would highly recommend their services for anyone considering a trip to Spain.

Samuel and Paloma planned our three week trip in Spain and Portugal with attention to our preferences and every detail. They were always available to answer any of our questions or make  recommendations.  My favorite experiences were the gastronomy tours where we were able to eat like the locals.
Their tour guides are very interesting, knowledgeable and accommodating.

We wanted to visit Portugal, spend some time by the sea in Spain and have a short visit to Morocco while in Spain. Sam took time to talk with us a couple of times, gave us great advice on creating a manageable itinerary and planned a number of activities/adventures for the kids.

Our transfers were worry free, with drivers picking us up at every location and taking us back and forth to the wonderful activities they had planned for us. This time we traveled to beautiful Portugal. They created a custom itinerary that perfectly balanced sightseeing, culture, and relaxation. Everything was so well organized—transfers, tours and accommodations all went smoothly.

We loved how they included authentic experiences, like a guided food tour in Porto, a day trip through the Douro Valley wine region, a stop in a small historic village and time to relax along the Algarve coast before heading to Lisbon where we enjoyed a city tour that was custom to what we wanted to see. We ended our trip with an amazing day trip to Sintra and Cascais with a sailboat trip back to Lisbon-definitely a highlight and a perfect way to end our trip. All the hotels, meals, guides, drivers and activities were excellent. Paloma and Angela always answered our questions promptly and checked in regularly to see how we were doing. We could not have been happier with the experience.

They were quick to respond and handle dinner reservations. Communication in whatsapp was stellar. The Tourwriter that you can easily access the itinerary is a plus on your phone. It was truly a wonderful way to experience these 2 beautiful countries. The guides were impressive. One thing that I would do, is let them know that you'd like some free time to shop at various day trips or else you won't get that opportunity. Would love to have shopped a little in Segovia. My three friends and myself travel to Spain for a week last week and we used Carameltrail services to tailor some culinary, flamenco and city experiences around Madrid and to some nearby cities since we wanted to fully enjoy the capital without wasting too much time traveling by car. Samuel’s suggestions of Segovia, Toledo, Cuenca and Avila not to mention the tour guides selected for us were extraordinary. Our driver Pancho, who drove us to and from the airport and to the cities mentioned was the best! Puntual, respectful, responsible not to mention very patient with four women who sometimes wanted to stretch the time for extra pictures or some last minute shopping. Samuel and Paloma were also superb, very attentive to our needs via text and always helpful either with a restaurant reservation or with some recommendations for our leisure days. Highlights for us included seeing all the beautiful Christmas lights and decorations throughout southern Spain and Madrid, as well as enjoying the New Year’s Eve and Cabalgata Tres Magos, all unique suggestions from Angela to make the trip most memorable.  We have returned home with nothing but the best memories of our family together in España for the holidays…

More recently (June 2023), we enjoyed a trip to Portugal with my wife's family.  Just like our trip in 2019, Caramel Trail went above and beyond to make each and every experience 5-star!  Our hotels in Porto and Lisbon were extraordiary and centrally located, which were very important to us.  We had an array of tours, gastronomy, and wine tasting experiences and every guide and driver that we had were exceptional.  Caramel Trail also made sure to set us up with outstanding restaurant reservations to make sure that we enjoy the delicious, authentic, and local cuisine of these great cities.  After using them for two separate and incredible trips, I cannot recommend Caramel Trail enough!!
