Overall our experiece with the trip arranged by Carameltrail was excellent. We very much enjoyed San Sebastian and our trip to the Fench Basque region. Our guide was very knowledgeable and made the trip a real pleasure. The Rioja wine tour was also informative and interesting. The move to Bilbao was smooth. In retrospect we would have enjoyed a bit more time for the Gehry museum. The switch to the Costa Verde express was smooth as well. The train ride overall was fine, though we did find the comfort level given the size of the cars a challenge. We also would have liked a more intresting route, but it was overall interesting and acceptable. The Parador Santiago de Compostela was lovely and welcoming . The trip to Porto was smooth and nicely handled by our guide and driver. The hotel on Porto was interesting, the location was certainly inthe ‘middle of the action”, we probably would have preferred something a little quieter. However we certinly had access to anything we wanted to see. We had an ecellent tour twith a very knowledgeable young woman, she really provided and excellent overview of Porto past and present. The tour of the Douro Region was a highlight, so beautifu, our Guide was knowledgeable and helpful). We had a lovely lunch and tour. I cannot say enough about the incedible level of support your team supported us throughout the trip via “whats app etc” and in general.
Overalll the trip was excellent the only downside frankly was our experience with the airline (TAP) and really Lisbon airport, where there were really unaccpeptable delays coming and going related to their inablity to deal effficiently with passport control–just FYI, nothing likely within tyour control but of which you may want to be aware.
