This was my third trip with Caramel Trail and my first time visiting Portugal (other 2 trips have been to Spain in 2014 and 2018). I love that I can always trust Samuel and his team to put together the perfect itinerary to make the best use of my time away. My favorite part of every trip has been the experts we are paired with for experiences. Angela set up a wonderful trip to Spain for us in September 2022.  The planning of the trip was painless and Angela listened to our requests and incorporated them into our itinerary.  We were all over Spain, and the local guides that Caramel Trail uses were wonderful- both very knowledgeable and accommodating as well as good-humored.  Nearly all our transfers  went smoothly. The vehicles were very comfortable and the drivers professional.  On our last pick-up for our flight home, the driver was not there at the planned time.  A text to Angela got a response within  a minute or two and the problem (driver had the wrong time) was immediately rectified. The smaller boutique hotels were all in exceptional locations for visiting the areas and for dining.
Both Angela and Paloma were always available to us by phone or text and their responsiveness was amazing.  We would highly recommend their services for anyone considering a trip to Spain.

We had such a wonderful time on our trip with CaramelTrail.  We had wanted to walk/hike throughout Northern Spain, studying the culture, visiting wineries, tasting pintxos and tapas along the way.  Samuel and Paloma were able to provide all of these opportunities.  Both drivers and guides were so helpful, knowledgeable and fun to be with. We asked Carameltrail to create a private 16 day tour for my wife and I to see and experience multiple cities and towns in Spain and Portugal. The team, led by Angela and Paloma, delivered on all of our high expectations.

Starting with Angela's extensively detailed itinerary, they arranged all of the logistics for hotels, shows, transportation (mix of train, limousines and rental car), and tour guides. Their experience in planning and execution paid off, for this turned out to be the least stressful and most enjoyable travel experience of our lifetime.

Much credit also goes to their hand-picked guides who led us on a private tour of each of their home towns. They were all prompt and thoughtful, sharing local knowledge that added greatly to our understanding of the rich history and culture of each region.

We also appreciated Carameltrail's care and responsiveness to our needs. There were many times we needed last minute restaurant recommendations and reservations, and Paloma in particular would always come through, regardless of the hour.

Lastly, we saw from the special way in which hotels, restaurants and vendors treated us, that Carameltrail's reputation and influence carries weight. Whether it was a free room upgrade or front row seats at the most popular flamenco show in Madrid, we felt like royalty.

Our experience with Carameltrail was positive and professional from start to finish. Initially, our plans were arranged pre-pandemic with scheduled dates in the middle of the pandemic.  Carameltrail allowed postponement to a post pandemic schedule without extra cost or difficulty. The itinerary was tailored to all our personal requests, and often exceeded expectations. Hotel selections were well suited to our preferences, transportation was well managed and timely, the tours ran smoothly, and the guides were both knowledgeable and engaging. Our entire experience was first rate, and interactions with Samuel and Paloma were personable, responsive and thorough, they kept an on-going line of communication. We are just returning home from the best vacation ever and I can't recommend Carameltrail  highly enough! Angela with Carameltrail guided us in the planning process before our journey begin and stayed in contact during our travels. The experience was seamless and stress-free. Angela is incredibly knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely cared about creating the perfect itinerary. She took the time to understand our preferences and suggested unique destinations and activities. Angela cared so much she met us at our hotel in Madrid. During our travels we were in contact with Angela and Paloma by WhatsApp and they created a Tourwriters App we could use to keep our schedule at our fingertips.

Every detail, from flights, private drivers/car service, train tickets, and hotel accommodations (we often said we must be living right to get this room) but we knew the real truth was Carameltrail.  We enjoyed walking tours, Tapas tours, private cooking class & a farm to table lunch experience in a private home in Portugal national forest. All these activities were planned by Carameltrail. We talked with all the guides and drivers  we came in contact with and they all appreciated the working relationship with Carameltrail. Not one detail was over looked and they were quick to answer if we needed anything during our travels.

We wanted something completely different when we began to reschedule our canceled March 2020 Portugal trip. Friends of ours spoke so highly about their two vacations planned by Samuel Rojo of Carameltrail that we decided to use his services. We have traveled extensively but have always made the arrangements ourselves. The vacation Samuel organized for us was so much more than we could have imagined, including many experiences we would never have had the opportunity to know were available! We spent ten days in Lisbon and five days in Porto — with day trip excursions from each of those cities, all arranged by Carameltrail. Every detail of our trip was perfect. Our two hotels were first class — located in the best part of each city. Each tour guide was so knowledgeable and kind. Our only regret is that Carameltrail doesn’t arrange trips everywhere! Samuel and Paloma spoiled us — thank you!

Booking our trip with Carameltrail was a no-brainer after our first trip to Spain. It was an incredible trip. This time we traveled to beautiful Portugal. They created a custom itinerary that perfectly balanced sightseeing, culture, and relaxation. Everything was so well organized—transfers, tours and accommodations all went smoothly.

We loved how they included authentic experiences, like a guided food tour in Porto, a day trip through the Douro Valley wine region, a stop in a small historic village and time to relax along the Algarve coast before heading to Lisbon where we enjoyed a city tour that was custom to what we wanted to see. We ended our trip with an amazing day trip to Sintra and Cascais with a sailboat trip back to Lisbon-definitely a highlight and a perfect way to end our trip. Each recommendation felt thoughtful and tailored to what we wanted out of the trip.

What impressed us most was their attention to detail—they provided tips on local restaurants, hidden gems, and even other sights we might want to see if we had extra time. We never once felt stressed; we could just enjoy Portugal’s beauty and culture.

My friends and I recently had the pleasure of booking our trip with Carmeltrail in Madrid, and the experience exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we arrived at the airport to the last day of our trip, all of our travel needs were met.

The itinerary crafted by Samuel (the Owner) was nothing short of exceptional, we worked together and he understood right away what we wanted to do, he gave us great ideas of places to visit incluiding Cuenca, Avila and Segovia, We also went to the beautiful Toledo. Every detail was meticulously planned, offering a perfect balance of must-see attractions and hidden gems. Their local knowledge of the guides  (all of them!!!!!!!!)made my journey in Madrid and around Madrid truly memorable.

What impressed me the most was the personalized attention I received by Samuel and his wife Paloma, when we were in our trip they replied to our texts within the minute, any queries or concerns were promptly addressed, they also helped us make reservations to restaurants when we ran out of ideas and we couldn't find a place to eat.. The recommendations for restaurants ,were the Best!
Pancho our driver was the best, he was very kind, and kept up with our group of 4 girls that wanted pictures everywhere, He always had a smile even though sometimes we were not on time in the morning or were late when we had to come back, (sorry Pancho)
In summary, my friends and I had a blast, we would hire Caramel trail again and again. I was happy when Samuel told us he can also arrange trips to Morocco and Portugal!!!!
We are coming back!!!

Samuel of CaramelTravel organized four day-trips for my family during our 2-week visit to Spain: two in Barcelona, one in Madrid, and one in Toledo. For each trip, our tour guide was excellent! Recently, my wife and I enjoyed our second trip planned with Caramel Trail.  In 2019, we had an amazing trip to Spain.  More recently (June 2023), we enjoyed a trip to Portugal with my wife's family.  Just like our trip in 2019, Caramel Trail went above and beyond to make each and every experience 5-star!  Our hotels in Porto and Lisbon were extraordiary and centrally located, which were very important to us.  We had an array of tours, gastronomy, and wine tasting experiences and every guide and driver that we had were exceptional.  Caramel Trail also made sure to set us up with outstanding restaurant reservations to make sure that we enjoy the delicious, authentic, and local cuisine of these great cities. Caramel Trail is amazing!  We've taken two trips that the Caramel Trail team organized and they've both been perfect.  The first trip in 2017 was six weeks in Spain and the second trip in 2022 was six weeks in Morocco, Portugal, and Spain.  Both trips were excellent.  Samuel and Paloma know how to take care of every detail to ensure a great experience is had by everyone.  They really work hard to ensure an amazing trip and it shows. Our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 teenagers) just returned from wonderful trip to Portugal and Spain (Lisbon, Porto, Santiago, Ribadesella and Bilbao) expertly planned and supported by Angela and Paloma at CaramelTrail. Our trip to Portugal this month (April 2022) was our first time traveling since pandemic impact so many things.  We could not have been happier with our trip and the expertise and care Samuel & Paloma took to make everything go so smoothly.
Our itinerary was Lisbon to Viseu to Porto for a week long visit.  The guides that Samuel arranged  in Lisbon and Porto were not only top-notch, but very friendly and went above and beyond.  The true surprise and highlight of our trip was Douro Valley.  It is truly a magical place made only more special by the amazing lodging Samuel selected at the Six Senses Hotel.  We have travelled extensively and that hotel was truly the best one we have ever stayed at!
Time to get out there and see this amazing world- and we highly recommend you use Samuel with Caramel Trail to make all the arrangements. You will not be disappointed.
We will definitely be reaching out to them again to help plan more trips to Spain, Portugal & Morocco.

We just finished our second trip with Caramel Trail and Samuel and Paloma are the best! After a fabulous trip to Portugal in 2019 we had them plan our trip to Spain this year and our trip was 5-stars all the way. From Seville to Madrid to Barcelona all of the details were planned and implemented with careful planning and communication. Drivers were all on time and vehicles top notch, tour guides knowledgeable, kind and fun. Samuel even made our dinner reservations for us. They were flexible in adjusting our schedule to some last minutes requests and quick to respond any time we had a question along the way. I just returned from a 2 week vacation in Spain planned by Carameltrail. The team did an excellent job selecting tours based on our preferences. The tours were private with charismatic, friendly, and knowledgeable tour guides that really enriched the experience. The travel between cities was effortless. We can't say enough good things about Caramel Trail travel agency.  Manuel and Paloma manage a great business which offers special care for its clients throughout their journey.  Our stay in Portugal and Spain consisted of seventeen nights of pure enjoyment.

We visited Lisbon, Porto, Barcelona, Madrid, Toledo, Seville, Triana, Alhambra, Grandada, Nerja, Axarquia, Frigiliana and our last stop was fabulous Malaga.  The choice of hotels and restaurants were excellentat at each stop.

Everything was well organized as Paloma and Manuel were available 24/7 to take care of whatever we needed.
The drivers and guides all did a great job as we were picked up at all locations in a timely manner.  Fortunately, we had no problems whatsoever which is a major credit to all Caramel Trail personnel.

We highly recommend Caramel Trail to any and all who choose to visit Portugal, Spain or Morocco.  You will easily realize that you are in good hands once you begin your journey.

We had an absolutely fantastic trip to Spain and Morocco, with every detail handled by Carameltrail, specifically Angela, and then also Paloma during the actual travel.  We loved working with Angela, going back and forth to fine tune our itinerary.  She asked the right questions to make sure the itinerary matched our preferences for tours, hiking trails, photo ops, types of lodging, guides, etc.  She handled every detail to perfection, making hotel reservations, plane and rental car reservations, drivers... everything!  The lodging they set up for us was spectacular and memorable with unique and friendly boutique hotels.  And when we had questions during the actual travel, Angela and Paloma were always available, at all hours!!!  They even surprised us with special tips during the travel so we were able to enjoy some of their local favorite eats and activities.

We had the best trip to Spain, including Madrid, Toledo, Granada and Seville. Angela and Paloma did an outstanding job of planning a perfect 9 days for us - from start to finish we thoroughly enjoyed our accommodations, our drivers, guides, tours and experiences. My only regret is not having more time - it definitely left us wanting a bit more time to explore each area.
They also went above and beyond to help when my niece was ill for a couple days on our trip. We so appreciated the assistance they offered and last minute changes to our itinerary.

She is professional, responsive, creative, and detail oriented
We were in contact with her, and her assistant, Paloma when needed( but not intrusive)
I would never even think about using another travel company for Portugal, Spain, or Morocco, and continue to refer Angela to any friends who might be contemplating a trip to the 3 countries they work with
